As the end of the year draws near and all the Christmas and New Years invites start to roll in, we’re feeling a little bit sentimental about all the suits we have made together over the last 12 months. 2024 has been filled with suits of all colours, styles, textures and fits and it has been a pleasure to bring to life the suit of Melbourne’s dream for another year!

Clean in Green
Throughout 2024 we saw many fine gentlemen walk into our studio, and a common theme among them was an interest in green fabrics. From rich, forest green velvets to textured, more neutral greens that are all class, there really was a green suit to suit any occasion.
As you can see, green is more versatile than one might assume. Seen here is a green velvet tuxedo with a white shirt and black bowtie. then here in a green herringbone fabric with a white shirt, mustard yellow tie, and pocket square. Green suits are often surprising for the wearer, as the colour is not as outlandish as perhaps first imaged, it is fortunately just as easy to wear as a black or navy suit.
Green suits also look fantastic paired with a vest, and can be layered for formality and dressed down for casual occasions. It was a true pleasure to see so many Melbourne men step into the world of coloured suits, and ride the trend of green in menswear that we saw throughout 2024.
Classic Black
There will always be something timeless about a black suit. From the influences of royalty to the style and charm of Agent 007, we all recognise and associate black suits with formality, professional, and stylish gentlemen.

Our Projections for Suit Trends in 2025
The Briggins crystal ball has been hard at work, churning out predictions for the upcoming year.
Firstly, we predict a continued increase in men choosing colours for their accessories. From burgundy bow ties to yellow ties and bright pocket squares, there is always something so joyous about a pop of colour. If you’re the life of the party and you know it, bring some of that personality and wear a pop of colour to your next formal event!
Secondly, we expect more and more men will be opting for double breasted suit jackets. There is an undeniable charm and old-school movie star energy to these suit jackets. We expect, and hope, that more men will appreciate this style and step outside of their comfort zones.
Gentlemen, it’s time to get creative! In 2025 we hope to see a mix and match of coloured suit jackets being paired with pants of complementary but different colours. For example, by purchasing two custom-made suits in green and black you have so many possible combinations!
